Exterior Walls
The exterior is sheathed with 3/8" O.S.B., covered with house wrap and clad with 5/8" T&G, v-groove, tightknot, cedar siding (5" exposure) and coated with Sikkens brand clear Cetol. This provides a very weather proof, low maintenance, and VERY attractive exterior that will blend into any natural surrounding.
The interior side of the wall is insulated with R20 fibreglass batt insulation and covered with a 6mm poly vapour barrier. The finish material is a 5/8" T&G, v-groove, tightknot, solid pine with 5" exposure, and vinyl coated wallboard. This provides for a low maintenance interior that is very attractive and "warm", creating a calm and rustic ambience.
Most models are available in a "Budget" model, using 2" x 4" studs, and stained slotted plywood siding.
